SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is the default method of securing your web transactions, and OctaGate Switch™ can act as an SSL Frontend for your backend servers. (HTTPS is sometimes used as a synonym for SSL).
Either because you want to remove the load incurred by SSL your web server, or because you want to perform load balancing in combination with SSL. Seting up SSL with OctaGate is very easy, as will be outlined here.
SSL works in combination with all other OctaGate Switch™ features, including HTTP Compression and Load Balancing.
OctaGate Switch™ uses OpenSSL to encrypt and decrypt the SSL stream.
