Failover Settings

These settings determine how OctaGate Switch™ behaves during a server failure.

Max Fail Before Offline
This value determines how many times a server is "allowed" to fail before it's considered to be offline. The default value is 1, which means that a short server hickup will not terminate all current user sessions. This value, together with Failover Check Interval, will determine how long a server can be failing before it's considered offline. Generally, you will want to keep this value low.

Failover Check Interval
Failover Check Interval determines how often OctaGate Switch™ will check the servers in the server cluster, measured in seconds. If this value is 10, for instance, OctaGate Switch™ will try to connect to all servers in the cluster every 10 seconds.
